What is a copyedit?
Copyediting focuses on the more technical aspects of writing, including but not limited to:
· Grammar, punctuation, and spelling
· Watching for sentence flow
o Repetition – everyone has those few words that keep popping up!
o Run-ons and fragments
o Clarity
· Wording
· Stylistic consistency – serial commas, abbreviations, numbers, etc.
· Cross-referencing and basic fact-checking
